Week(end) Wraps and Snaps!

Week(end) Wraps and Snaps is a snapshot into my week and weekend as a whole, wrapping it up and providing you with pictorial highlights from the previous 7 days.  This weekend, I enjoyed a relaxing, yet fun few days. Check it out!

After a week of late nights and early mornings (SUPER early on Thursday, rising at 6:15 AM), all I wanted to do on Friday night was sleep. But with my boyfriend (Joe) coming over and a few days of freedom ahead of me, what fun would that be? Joe was worn out from his work week, as well, so we opted for a casual, calm date night. We ended up at Beth Marie's Old Fashioned Ice Cream Parlor. It was great to have some cheap, flavorful ice cream and enjoy the warm, Texas night weather while sitting on the grass in the square. Little quaint dates like this with my sweetheart are my FAVORITE!

On Saturday I had some down time, and I decided to give a new nail design a try for the Fourth of July. It actually turned out well for my first time using those paints with a free hand! You can view the American Flag Nail Tutorial HERE.

On Sunday, Joe and I decided to enjoy another relaxing, fun day together. We both had some work to get done on our computers, but managed to put a halt in our tasks to grill out. We found a great deal on steaks and corn on the cob, and cooked together. It was a great way to end the weekend, and the results were DELICIOUS!

This past week's randoms:

1) City Girl Gone Country reached 2000 pageviews! :-) Thanks everyone for stopping by!

2) Attended the Rangers vs. Tigers game on Wednesday. Had to wear Tigers' colors in support of my man from MI!

3) City Girl Gone Country's Facebook Page reached over 50 likes! (Did you know, if I reach 65 likes I'm participating in a giveaway with Emily at Insanity Rules? Go get to liking, and stay tuned for our giveaway opportunity!)

4) I somehow managed to gain a little luck and win the Oscar De La Renta Giveaway from Emily over at Life, etc.! :-) I can't wait to try out the fun scarf and the chic sunglasses!

What fun did you have this past week/weekend? Any exciting news?

XOXO,

Sarah B Texas

  1. Part of my fun was running out of diesel in Austin on our way to San Antonio...and then waiting 2 hours for AAA to show up. (epic fail! and I blame my hubby for not filling up before we got on 130 tollroad.) Looks like you had a nice weekend!

    1. Haha, imagine that, Shannon! That's hilarious. I still get my fill of the city by dipping into Dallas once in a while (ok, ok... every weekend... but only because my boyfriend is residing there, not because I'm having withdrawals!).

Thanks for adding me back, I appreciate the support! I can't wait to read what other fun recipes you have, I'm already toying with the idea of making that strawberry cheesecake! :-)
