On Your Screen Link-Up!

Hello my dearest blog friends! Today I'm linking up with Abby for "On Your Screen."

I thought this link up was very fitting, since those of you who are following me on Twitter know that while working on an article for my work I spent a good chunk of my day watching the classy and glamorous Audrey Hepburn in the ever classic:

Breakfast at Tiffany's

Sadly, this was my very first time watching the iconic film (I know, I know, please don't unfollow me just yet!). I had finished watching The Graduate on Netflix (another legendary cinematic experience), and the movie suggestion popped up, almost shaking it's screen-head at me for not having watched it before. I figured "Why not, I'll put it on in the background as I finish up these paragraphs." But five minutes into the movie, I was forced to put my laptop to the side due to my engagement with the movie's plot, mixed with the gorgeous yet simple outfits that Audrey flaunted. Why had I not seen this film before?! I quickly fell in love with the film that every girl can't help but watch on a quiet, cozy night alone.

Audrey's struggle to find herself in the big city hit so close to home. I never knew who I really was when living in the concrete jungle of California. It took me moving to Texas and making some drastic changes to really begin to see the real Sarah. Audrey had such a big guard up against love (an impressive one filled with marrying rich, powerful men, at that).

This movie is now on my instant queue in my Netflix account, and will be watched several times for as long as they have it up. I'm so glad fate finally brought me to watching it!

Also, on a side note, I will have an undying gratitude and forever be in debt to the person that can get me an eye mask and ear plug's like dear Audrey's here:

So what's your favorite movie? What's your "it" film to turn to during a sick/lonely night in? Do you prefer the classics or the new up-and-coming?

XOXO,

Sarah B Texas

  2. Thanks for linking up! I loved this movie too, although it's the only Audrey Hepburn movie I have seen. The Graduate is on my list of films to watch

    1. You're very welcome, Abby! I loved The Graduate, and recommend it if/when you get the chance. It is filled with awkward, peculiar humor.

    1. You are so welcome! I will do my best to link up again in the future :-) I'm always happy to reach out and meet more of the blogging community!

I will definitely have to add those to my "watch" list on my day off! I've heard of Charade before, but the others are foreign to me. I can't wait to try them out!

  4. Don't feel bad Sarah, I am much older than you and I watched Breakfast at Tiffany's for the very first time just last year! I have to admit that I was rather disappointed in it when I watched it, I guess because I had built it up in mind. As far as classics go I love Casablanca, but my all time favorite is Gone with the Wind.

    1. I think I loved it mainly for Audrey Hepburn herself. The story line is alright, but I love Audrey in it, and absolutely love her outfits she wears.

As you know, the boyfriend and I watched Casablanca while eating a romantic, candle-lit dinner and enjoying delicious red wine for Valentine's Day (all his idea, I'm so spoiled!). I enjoyed the movie more than I had anticipated. I can't remember the last time I watched Gone with the Wind, but I'm most certainly up for a refresher viewing!

    1. That would be awesome! Be sure to let me know whenever that photo shoot happens! :-) In the meantime, good luck with the weight loss! I'm in the same boat right now. A photoshoot sounds like a great encouragement to keep going!
